History will remember 2020! It’s one of the most tragic years in history. In a day and night all of us were asked to fight an invisible enemy! The Emerging coronavirus (COVID-19).
Client Overview
The Universal Health Insurance Association (UHIA), in collaboration with the Public Health Care Authority, plays a critical role in Egypt’s healthcare system, focusing on ensuring the welfare and protection of both medical professionals and the public during health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Challenge
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting the medical professionals on the front lines, known as “The White Army”, became a top priority.
The challenge was to disseminate verified, practical, and urgent infection control protocols to a vast network of healthcare providers across Egypt. This includes hospitals, ICUs, oncology departments, and laboratories.
The demand for swift, accurate training was immense, and traditional methods would have been too slow and inefficient.
A solution was needed to protect those fighting on the front lines and prevent further transmission within medical institutions.
Risky Adventure
The start was when our team traveled to Port Said to record the course videos. The shooting happened at El-Nasr Specialized Hospital for Children, East Port Said.
We recorded the pathway of the suspected patient since entering the emergency department to reach the isolation room in the hospital.
Just imagine the danger we were in! just imagine the danger surrounding our white army heroes every day till now!
It wasn’t a piece of cake to wear all personal protective equipment and move around holding lightning equipment, cameras and so on at critical places like the hospital.
Eventually, we managed to record a full simulation about the standard precautions.

GFD LearningSecret Recipe
GFD Learning created a Video-Instructor Led Training (VILT) course in Arabic. It focused on infection control for healthcare providers.
The course was made with Dr. Ameer El Telwany, CEO of the General Authority of Healthcare.
It followed the latest protocols from WHO and Egypt’s Ministry of Health.
GFD Learning also produced five animated videos under the campaign “Weqaya.” These videos educated the public and medical staff on COVID-19 prevention.
Topics included:
- Episode 1: Infection control standards
- Episode 2: Mistakes to avoid while using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Episode 3: Continuation of mistakes to avoid with PPE
- Episode 4: Home isolation instructions
- Episode 5: Mental health for healthcare workers
These videos were designed to increase awareness, prevent mistakes, and offer crucial mental health support to healthcare professionals.
GFD LearningSecret Recipe
At GFD Learning, we believe in the power of technology and online education to reach a large number of individuals efficiently, especially during critical times like a pandemic.
Our approach emphasizes real-life situations, personalization, and the use of visual aids to ensure that the information is not only accurate but also engaging and easy to absorb.
Through our VILT and animated videos, we aimed to provide trusted, authorized medical knowledge to healthcare workers and the general public, avoiding the dangers of misinformation spreading on social media platforms during a time of widespread panic.
