Our Story
Our journey began with the strategic merger of two pioneers in the field:
GFD, known for its leadership in TVET reform and workforce development across Egypt and the MENA region.
UMAMI, an EdTech innovator serving 6 million learners with interactive, multilingual digital content across 22 countries.

At GFD Learning, we are driven by a group of innovators, policymakers, and digital transformation experts with a combined 35+ years of experience. Our leadership brings together the visionary founders of Galaxy for Development (GFD) and (UMAMI).
Mohamed Fawzy
CEO of GFD
A visionary leader in education reform, TVET policy, and public-private partnerships.
Mohamed Fawzy has over 25 years of experience driving large-scale, impact-driven initiatives across Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa.
His expertise spans TVET policy reform, institutional accreditation, and strategic labor market alignment, working with USAID, GIZ, ILO, and the EU to shape the future of education and employment.
Ahmed Seif
CEO of UMAMI
A seasoned digital learning expert and entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience in instructional design, corporate training, and EdTech innovation.
Ahmed Seif has built some of the MENA region’s most dynamic e-learning and gamification solutions for NGOs and public institutions such as UNICEF, UNESCO, USAID, and GIZ.
With deep expertise in digital learning and instructional design, he has delivered customized digital learning projects across sectors including banking, compliance, education reform, and workforce development.
