    our solutions

The GIZ Employment Promotion Program (EPP) is a German Development Cooperation initiative designed to address Egypt’s persistent employment challenges by enhancing the quality of career guidance services, narrowing the skills gap, and reinforcing the connection between education and the labor market.

As a trusted implementation partner, GFD Learning supported the program with tailored strategies to strengthen the technical education system, empower educators, and promote public-private collaboration, ensuring Egyptian youth are equipped with the competencies needed to navigate the future of work.

    The Challenge

Despite a growing young population, Egypt’s job market continues to suffer from a mismatch between graduates’ skills and employer expectations.

    The key challenges were:

    • The absence of early career orientation mechanisms in basic education.
    • Limited capacity among educators and career counselors to provide structured, market-relevant guidance.
    • Weak collaboration between schools and the private sector in preparing students for real employment pathways.

    GFD Learning’s Role

GFD Learning’s contribution was centered on strengthening the career readiness ecosystem across Egypt’s education sector.

In close collaboration with GIZ, GFD Learning:

    • Developed an operational framework for career orientation in preparatory schools, helping students make informed decisions about their future.
    • Led capacity-building programs for teachers and career advisors, enabling them to deliver relevant, high-impact guidance to students.
    • Enhanced cooperation between education institutions and the private sector, laying the groundwork for employment-focused partnerships.

“Through the GIZ Employment Promotion Program, GFD Learning has strengthened career guidance, enhanced TVET capacity, and fostered public-private partnerships to equip youth with market-driven skills and employment opportunities.”
